Geoff's Crystal Serenity cruise review
This was my first Crystal cruise, and to be honest it may be my last.
There was nothing I hated, but I prefer the vibe and general experience of smaller ships on the Silver Seas and Seaborne.
I didn’t like the sitting at mealtime and prefer to go when it suits me, and I was particularly unimpressed when two surly looking men “guarding” the main dining room wouldn’t allow me in 5 minutes before the 8.30 sitting, but a minute later granted access to two beautiful women who seemed to catch their eye.
The ship itself was immaculate, although I was surprised the verandah rooms actually felt a little cramped.
I did not like being accosted by photographers asking me repeatedly if I’d like my photo taken ( the shot was available later for a fee )
The entertainment was good and I really enjoyed the Billy Joel show and a classical pianist.
All in all it was an OK cruise, but I’m not sure I would travel with them again,
