Elaine Paige godmother of Seabourn Ovation

Ultra-luxury cruise line Seabourn have named the world-famous singer and actress Elaine Paige godmother of Seabourn Ovation.

Ms. Paige will preside over the Naming Ceremony for Seabourn’s newest cruise ship in the beautiful harbour of Valetta, Malta on 11 May 2018. It is sure to be a spectacular ceremony that will light up the UNESCO World Heritage site.

“I am so honoured to have been asked to be Godmother to Seabourn Ovation,” said Elaine Paige. “Seabourn’s legendary service has the same DNA as a hit West End show:  a dedicated cast of professionals who all come together to deliver a superb performance, whatever their role. I can’t wait to board the beautiful Seabourn Ovation and send her off into the world!”

Who are cruise ship godmothers

Naming Elaine Paige godmother continues the theatrical association of Seabourn’s Encore-class cruise ships. As we reported from Singapore in 2017, West End star Sarah Brightman was named godmother of Seabourn Encore.

Elaine Paige is the unofficial first-lady of musical theatre. Her stage credits include starring roles in Evita, Cats, Hair, Jesus Christ Superstar, Anything Goes, Sunset Boulevard, to The King & I.
