Barbara's Ovation of the Seas cruise review

This cruise was the worst cruise of my life. We took our adult son and daughter with us as their first cruise. It is now there last with RCL.

AS the cruise originated and return to Hong Kong this cruise was aimed entirely at the Chinese market. As ok. As we stepped on board we were taken aside by the waiter staff and told no to wait in any queues as clearly we were not like the Chinese. The entertainment was (when the entertainment staff could be bothered to put anything on for us was 2nd rate on the way over to Japan) as the Chinese seem to sleep early there was only one live guitarist/singer making any effort to entertain us from 10 pm onwards.

The food was disgusting in the Windjammer, there was meatloaf served which looked like dog poo, the burgers were from a tin and swimming in a liquid. We lost weight on this cruise, we did try to take breakfast at other places but the timing was so limited (yes you guest it the Chinese eat early) and others options you had to pay.

We complained on board and RCL did give us a free evening in meal and improved slightly the entertainment on the return journey. The ship was limited compare to say Norweigian Cruises.

The staff were all very nice and helpful but they too were tired from their Chinese leg of the trip and just looking forward to their journey on to Sydney.

PLease if your thinking of this cruise (October month) think again there are much better companies out there. I complained on board and then I wrote on the official complaints sight, which says “our representative will be in contact” that was in November 2017, I am still waiting for there response.
